Volunteers

YOU, the Volunteer, are the Heart & Soul of our Hospice Team.

In an average year, there are approximately 450,000 hospice volunteers providing around 19 million hours of service across the U.S. Adult and teen volunteers, all helping to bring some normalcy to the day-to-day life of our patients and providing a sense of comfort and support to the patient and the caregiver.

What do Agapé Volunteers do?

We LOVE families through one of the most difficult and challenging times of their lives.

As an Agapé Volunteer, you get to be the best part of someone's day by spending quality time or helping support this expansive mission by using your organizational skills in our office and other various administrative support. Just as the needs of our patients are widely varied, so are the talents of our volunteers.  Whether you can cut and style hair, landscape a yard, cook a meal, take beautiful photographs or have a certified therapy pet, we can find you a meaningful place for you to serve your community, whatever your skill set or desires .

Why Should I Volunteer?

Simple. You long to Make a Real Difference in the lives of those around you, providing something for someone that has staying power and is remembered long after your time is done here.

Agapé volunteers all have one thing in common: a calling and willing heart to serve. From teens to senior adults from all cultures and backgrounds, Agapé has a role you can fill. Our volunteer team members are such a huge part of who Agapé is, and we would love to have you on our team!

How do I Become a Volunteer?

We believe people want to be part of a team and something bigger than themselves, and we have those opportunities here at Agapé Hospice.

All of our volunteers are carefully screened and take part in a free training program. This comprehensive selection and education process ensures our volunteers have the tools, knowledge and support they need to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.

Join Team Agapé

Whether you are taking the first steps toward volunteering or have been an Agapé volunteer for many years, your gift of time and your heart for service is a blessing to our patients and their loved ones. Our mission would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of each of our volunteers.

I wish to express sincere appreciation for the highly professional Hospice Care provided to my wife Elizabeth Dianne Jones. May 10 thru July 5, my dear wife of 71 years received excellent care provided by Cheryl, Dee, Jennifer, Don, Dave, and Fran. Our daughter Diana and I are grateful for the provision of personal care, supplies and the smiles and hugs provided to us. The greatest blessing of all is that my Dianne did not suffer. Her pain was managed quite well and on July 5th she with us by her side transitioned into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus at the 3:30 p.m. hour. Thank you for being there for us. God Bless You each and every one.
